Guardian Home Program FAQ
Goldendoodle Baby
What is a Guardian Home?
A Guardian Home is a loving family that raises one of our breeding dogs as their own pet while we retain breeding rights. This allows our dogs to live full, happy lives in family homes rather than in a kennel environment.
Guardian families receive a top-quality Goldendoodle at little or no upfront cost in exchange for partnering with us during the dog’s breeding years.
What are the benefits of being a Guardian Home?
Guardian families receive:
• A beautiful, health-tested Goldendoodle
• A puppy that comes from carefully selected parents
• Ongoing support from our breeding program
• The joy of helping raise future generations of amazing puppies
Most importantly, your dog lives with you as a beloved family pet.
Who owns the dog?
During the breeding years, Goldendoodle Baby retains breeding rights and official ownership.
However, the dog lives with the Guardian family full-time as their pet.
Once the dog retires from our program, full ownership is transferred to the Guardian family.
How many litters will the dog have?
Female dogs typically have 3–4 litters before retiring.
Male dogs may be used periodically for breeding during their program years.
Every dog is evaluated individually to ensure their health and wellbeing always comes first.
Where does the dog live?
The dog lives full-time with the Guardian family in their home.
The dog is part of your family—sleeping in your home, playing with your family, and enjoying a normal pet life.
What responsibilities does the Guardian family have?
Guardian families agree to:
• Provide a safe, loving home
• Feed high-quality food
• Keep the dog healthy and well cared for
• Maintain regular vet care
• Keep the dog groomed and well socialized
• Communicate with us about the dog’s health and wellbeing
We work closely with our Guardian families and are always available for support.
What responsibilities does Goldendoodle Baby have?
We are responsible for:
• All breeding-related veterinary expenses
• Health testing required for breeding
• Support and guidance throughout the program
• Care during breeding and whelping periods
Our goal is to make the partnership smooth and supportive for our Guardian families.
What happens during breeding?
When a female dog is ready for breeding, she will stay with us for a short period. She will return home to her Guardian family afterward.
When it is time for puppies to be born, she will stay with us during pregnancy and whelping until the puppies are weaned. After that, she returns home.
Male dogs typically visit briefly for breeding and then return home.
What happens when the dog retires?
Once the dog has completed their breeding career, they are spayed or neutered, and full ownership is transferred to the Guardian family.
They remain your beloved pet for the rest of their life.
What makes a good Guardian Home?
Ideal Guardian families:
• Live within a reasonable distance of us
• Have a stable home environment
• Love dogs and want to be involved in our program
• Are willing to communicate and partner with us
Most importantly, Guardian families treat the dog as a true member of their family.
How do I apply?
